UNLEASHED 5: Rage In The Cage
New York City, New York, USA

UNDERCARD

Open Weight Fight:
Tyrone "Crazyboy" Smith vs Parker Crosby

The opening moments of the match are uneventful as the two men continue to move into clinches, with no action. The referee seems about to call the match on account of no activity, when Russian monster Uri Boyka charges in, breaking through the cage door and utterly decimating both competitors.

Boyka defeats Crosby and Smith via double knockout at 2:45.

Lightweight Division Fight
Shane "Dixie Dynamite" Sanders vs "The Murder City Junkie" Silas Warner

Much like his last match with Sinn, Warner's heart just does not seem to be in the fights, causing him to get booed loudly by the crowd. He gets in a few weak but lucky shots, attempting several takedowns that are avoided by the light-footed woman called "Dixie Dynamite".

Sanders opens Silas up early on in the match, taking full advantage of the cage surrounding them as a weapon.  She takes extreme pleasure in destroying Warner's face with wicked punch after punch, dislocating his jaw and breaking a few of her knuckles in the process.

Warner tries in vain to battle back, managing a takedown that quickly fails as Sanders gets a knee up into Warner's groin, and reverses the move into a sleeper hold of her own. The referee separates them after the clinch goes on too long with no action, only to have Sanders pick Warner up and level him with a piledriver, adding neck impact to his facial injuries. A few well placed kicks follow, opening Warner up like a fountain. After the blood flow becomes more pronounced, the referee stops the fight.

Sanders defeats Warner via referee stoppage at 9:41.

Heavyweight Division Fight
Thomas "Kalifornia" Evans vs Osbourne Kilminster

Not content to slip into the idleness that contributed to his loss in his last match, Kilminster opens up aggressively in first seconds of this brutal matchup. While a takedown attempt is blocked, he manages to surprise Kalifornia with a spinning side-kick to the midsection. More than hurting Evans, however, the blow seems to warm him up, as Kalifornia follows up with a series of vicious striking attacks, feeding Kilminster a staggering diet of punches, knees, and kicks.

While Kalifornia seems hungry for an easy win, he is disciplined enough to not open himself up to further assaults by forcing the attack, instead pushing Kilminster back against the edge of The Circle, almost taunting him. His strikes are breaking down Ozzy, whose own attempts at offense are consistently met with failure. Kilminster appears to be in bad shape with his back against the unforgiving steel, but he manages to wrestle Evans to the ground with a single leg takedown, only to have Kalifornia shake it off and roll right back up.

Kilminster shakes his head, charging back in and locking in a hammerlock in the process. Kalifornia doesn't hesitate, immediately breaking it up with a back elbow, which Kilminster ducks. The momentum spins Kalifornia around, and Ozzy brings down his opponent with an arm drag takedown, locking in a side headlock afterwards and moving into another clinch that drives them away from the cage wall.

Kalifornia breaks out, connecting with a knee strike that catches a piece of Ozzy's groin. Kalifornia forces him to his knees and locks in an inverted front facelock.

Kilminster lets loose with another knee-buckling kick on Evans, reversing the facelock as they grapple on the mat for position before being separated by the referee. With almost nothing left in the tank after the taxing assaults on his opponent, Kalifornia loses his patience, and forces a takedown attempt. Kilminster short-circuits Kalifornia's desperate dive by sidestepping and catching hold of Kalifornia's arm as it impacts with his chest, flipping him overhand and into the cage with a judo toss. Kalifornia lands awkwardly, but still struggles up, and right into a knee to the face courtesy of Kilminster. Both men crash back into the cage, but Kilminster is the only one who gets up. Evans is unconscious.

Kilminster defeats Evans via knockout at 20:15.

HEADLINE FIGHTS

Middleweight Championship Fight
Spiral vs Joshua "The Reckoner" Banks

The sound of marching echoes through the building.  Grinding stomps that echo through the sudden burst of chants and screams from the crowd as the houselights turn and shine down upon the stage.  Now I am become Death... the destroyer of worlds feeds through the speakers over the music.  On the abrasive, crunching downbeat, Spiral appears on the stage.  The spoiled rich crowd stands to their feet.  Some cheer him on.  Others scream for his blood.  He breathes in their derision, their disgust, their undying hatred as he moves from one side of the stage to the other, raising his hands in the air, urging on the abominators.

"Don't fret precious I'm here," begin the lyrics.  Spiral walks toward The Circle, ignoring the cheers and jeers of those with ramp-side seats.  Walking quickly up the steps, he steps into the cage, makes his way to his corner, and kneels down and closes his eyes.  The music, the noise of the crowd, it all drowns in his head, leaving only silence.  Focus, concentrate, he thinks of nothing but his opponent, waiting patiently for the beginning of the match.

The violent marching sounds of Spiral music fade out and are replaced with the soft-by-comparison "Reckoner" by Radiohead.  The quiet but complex song continues as Joshua Banks enters the floor and heads towards the circle.  The crowd gives a mixed reaction to his appearance, but like Spiral, he seems to pay no mind to it.  He is in the cage, before long, standing across from his opponent.

As the two men stand across from each other, the announcer steps between them and begins to speak.

Announcer: Ladies and gentlemen, the two men in this cage tonight will fight until only one remains standing, for the right to be called the best middleweight fighter in the woooooorld!!!!! Introducing first... fighting out of the blue corner... He is a wrestler, with a record of two wins and no losses, standing six feet, two inches and weighing in at 208 pounds. Ladies and gentlemen... SPIIIIIIIIRAAAAAAAAAAAAL!!!!!

Spiral doesn't react as the crowd goes into a frenzy over his name.

Announcer: And now... fighting out of the red corner... He is a boxer, with a record of one win and one loss, standing six feet, three inches and weighing in at 215 pounds.  Ladies and gentlemen... JOSHUA "THE RECKONER" BAAAAAAAANNNNNNKKKSSS!

Banks raises one arm as the crowd cheers, but doesn't take his eyes off of Spiral.  The announcer leaves the ring and the cage is closed behind him.  The bell rings and the fight begins.

Banks braces himself for an aggressive move from Spiral, but it doesn't come.  Spiral simply circles around the cage uncharacteristically.  He seems to favor his left arm.  He doesn't hold his left hand up as he does with his right either, making for only half a proper fighting stance.  Banks sees this and stalks in closer to Spiral.  He winds up for a shot to his shoulder, but he pulls back at the last second forcing Spiral to parry a punch that never really comes.  He audibly laughs as Spiral falls for his trick, but Spiral juts looks annoyed.  Spiral steps forward and kicks banks in the Shin.  Banks laughter cuts off as he lifts his leg in response to the pain.  Spiral grabs it as it comes up and performs leg takedown.  He tries to mount his opponent and overwhelm him with punches, but he is unsuccessful as Banks uses his long legs to push Spiral back and away from him.  It also doesn't help that Spiral can only effectively throw punches with one arm.  Spiral re-centers himself and Banks scrambles back to his feet.

Banks doesn't take much time before charging back in at Spiral.  Spiral dodges the running attack, but Banks surprisingly manages to stop quickly and turn back on his opponent.  Banks approaches slowly and starts to use his jab.  Spiral does his best to parry and dodge them, but s few still manage to hit their mark.  They don't do much more than distract and annoy though.  Soon, Spiral gets fed up with them and grabs Banks' arm.  He pulls Banks in, turns and quickly flips him over his back.  Banks lands on the mat with a heavy impact and Spiral tries to take his moment of shock to switch from an arm-hold to rear choke.  Before he can get a tight grip on the choke though, Banks slams his head back, directly hitting Spiral's chin.  The impact knocks Spiral back again, and again, Banks scrambles to his feet.

Spiral is fed up and becomes aggressive now, no longer too concerned about his less-than-perfect arm.  He comes in shooting jabs at Banks, who manages to block pretty much all of them, but is also sufficiently distracted that he is unprepared for a sudden lunge forward and knee to the gut from Spiral.  Banks bends over from the impact and Spiral begins to rain shots on Banks back and neck.  Banks takes the shots though and refuses to fall to his knee.  He wraps his arms around Spiral's waist while being hit, picks him up and throws Spiral over his shoulder and slams him to the mat.

Banks tries to pick Spiral up again, but Spiral reacts quickly and uses his legs to block him.  Banks lets go of Spiral and quickly tries stomping on him.  He connects with a few shots, and even delivers one to Spiral's bad shoulder.  He expects some kind of scream or incapacitation from the impact, so he lets off and tries to grab Spiral again, but Spiral doesn't seem to miss beat and simply uses his right arm to elbow Banks in the face as he comes back down.  The impact knocks Banks back and on his ass, as well as bloodying his nose.  Spiral pushes himself to his feet as quickly as he can.

Spiral goes after the fallen Banks, but Banks manages to jump back on his feet quickly and he pushes forward into the charging Spiral, delivering a shoulder tackle to his gut.  They both fall to the mat and sprawl on the floor for bit.  Both men throw multiple punches but neither can knock the opponent hard enough to gain an opening for a hold.  Eventually, finally, Spiral turns over Banks and headbutts him directly into his already bloody nose, breaking it legitimately this time.  Spiral gets up, thinking he's about won with that hit, but Banks isn't unconscious and he manages to lunge upward at Spiral and deliver an uppercut as they both crawl back to their feet.  Spiral falls backward and ends up recovering while on his knees.  Banks gets up as quick as he can and he sees his opening with Spiral bent over and vulnerable.  He charges at Spiral, looking to hit a winning kick, but Spiral jumps up before he can deliver one.  He grabs Banks and throws him around him, directly at the cage he was kneeling in front of.  Banks flies into the steel and hits his head hard against it against it.  He falls to the mat and he doesn't move.  The ref steps in calls the match, checking on the fallen Banks. Before he can call the match, Spiral throws the referee aside, jumps into the air and drives his knee into The Reckoner's face.

Spiral defeats Banks by knockout at 18:42.

Lightweight Championship Fight (Match of the Night)
Karrin "Doomsday" Ennis vs Jada "Sinn" Kaine

Announcer: Ladies and gentlemen, the two women in this cage tonight will fight until only one remains standing, for the right to be called the best lightweight fighter in the woooooorld!!!!! Introducing first... the current Lightweight Champion... fighting out of the blue corner... She is a wrestler, with an undefeated record of four wins and no losses, standing five feet, eight inches and weighing in at 162 pounds. Ladies and gentlemen... SINNN!!!!!

Sinn smirks confidently, raising her taped up hands in the air as the crowd cheers loudly for her.

Announcer: And now... fighting out of the red corner... She is a mixed martial artist, with a flawless record of two wins and zero losses, standing five foot, ten inches and weighing in at 160 pounds.  Ladies and gentlemen...  KARRIN "DOOMSSSSSSSSSSDAY" ENNISSSSS!!

Ennis stares at her opponent, not showing a single flicker of reaction as the crowd goes nuts once again, screaming for blood, and chanting her nickname.

The crowd is eager for the fireworks that they are expecting to start the fight, but Sinn surprises nearly everyone by immediately shooting in for a takedown, instead of her usual defensive style. Ennis, clearly caught off guard, almost loses her balance, but manages to defend and tries to work a guillotine choke on Sinn. Sinn eventually breaks out, and when she does, Ennis is there on the offensive, rushing at her with her own takedown attempt. Ennis is successful, and inside the Champion's guard, Ennis begins to enforce her will, beating and bloodying Sinn with ground and pound strike combinations that are just too fast for Sinn to combat.

Sinn finally manages to get off a lucky punch to the throat that has Ennis stumbling back, looking for air. Sinn abandons her safe game, and in a look of almost frenzied anger, charges in and hits Karrin on the jaw with a kick. Ennis stumbles back into the cage, and Sinn launches herself at Ennis, pinning her against the steel mesh, and pounding away at her head.

Ennis gets her hands up, blocking the worst of the blows, and tosses Sinn back to the canvas, following her down and looking for leverage with a choke hold, and following up with a vicious headbutt that leaves Sinn disoriented. Sinn is rocked by the blow, but refuses to go down without a fight. She powers back to her feet, and sends Ennis back with a few strikes of her own.

Ennis, enjoying a considerable advantage thus far in the match, further opens up her lead against Sinn via a quick low kick to the midsection. As Sinn regroups, Ennis fires back in for another clinch, taking Sinn back to the ground with a takedown from the clinch. On the mat, Ennis traps Sinn up against the cage and feeds her a steady stream of punches and elbows. Sinn eventually clinches long enough to get a stand-up, but she is quickly taken down again and pounded on some more.

Sinn seems almost hesitant to step forward and strike, maintaining a defensive posture as she deflects and attempts to reverse the well-placed and methodical shots of the military trained Ennis. Eventually, Sinn takes a huge gamble and presses the action, shooting in with a takedown she has little problem getting. With surprising quickness, Ennis passes to the mount position and begins to hammer away at Sinn with elbows, looking to put the Champion away with more ground and pound technique. The blows open up a cut above Sinn's eye that proves to be the turning point in the match up.

Sinn manages to escape, and get back up, only to find herself on the wrong end of a kick to the chest that drives her back against the cage. Ennis continues her vicious assault, dropping a barrage of bombs on Sinn that ends with her vicious right hook that knocks the Champion out before the referee even has time to stop it!

Ennis defeats Sinn via knockout at 29:59.

MAIN EVENT

Heavyweight Championship Fight:
"The Dark Horse" Jackson vs Gangleri The Wanderer

Announcer: Ladies and gentlemen, two warriors have now entered the world's extreme circle of champions!  THIS IS THE MAIN EVENT OF THE EVENING!

The crowd goes absolutely nuts, many people screaming their heads off, as the referee makes his way out to the circle, now enclosed with a steel cage.

Announcer: Two fight until only one remains standing, for the right to be called the best Heavyweight fighter in the world! Introducing first... fighting out of the blue corner... He is a mixed martial artist, with a record of three wins, standing at six foot, two inches and weighing in at 235 lbs.  Ladies and gentlemen... GANGLERI!!!

Gangleri looks viciously focused as he bares his teeth in a feral snarl as he locks his eyes on his opponent.

Announcer:  And now... fighting out of the red corner... he is a wrestler, with a record of four wins and one loss, standing at six foot, four inches and weighing in at 277 lbs...  the current Heavyweight Champion... JACKSONNNN!!!!!

The Main Event fight in the Unleashed Caged Ring pits two world class fighters with almost fifty pounds weight difference. Jackson enters the cage to a huge roar from the crowd. He is followed by his opponent, Gangleri.  The two stand at opposite ends of the cage staring each other down.

The referee begins the match as the two competitors touch fists, a hard look in Jackson's eyes. The Dark Horse is quick and throws a few combinations at Gangleri.  Gangleri responds with some hard hits of his own. Jackson clinches Gangleri to prevent any more shots landing. They fall against the cage as they continue to exchange punches. The crowd continues to go wild; their screams echo every shot between the fighters.  Shot after shot, each one landing their mark.  Jackson manages to find his footing and lifting the Wanderer off his feet, dumps him over with a sidewalk slam. He quickly begins to pound Gangleri with knees to the back and elbows to the head. Gangleri turns and manages to shove Jackson off in an astounding feat of strength.  The two separate and stand back up as Gangleri shakes off the affects of Jackson's attack.

After a moment to catch their breath, Gangleri attempts a takedown, and succeeds.  The two fighters smash against the cage.  Jackson takes a hard right hook to the head and blocks, firing back with a crippling left cross that sends Gangleri reeling back. Jackson then shoots in with a leg takedown of his own and succeeds.

Gangleri climbs to his feet, only to be shaken as a right hand from Jackson clips his chin. Jackson takes full advantage and pounces on Gangleri. Both men go crashing to the mat as Jackson starts laying into Gangleri with punches and knees to the back. Jackson moves, attempting a rear naked choke. He wraps his legs around Gangleri's waist and attempts to choke him into submission. He holds the submission tight, and at one stage Gangleri looks like he is ready to quit. But the strength and aggression of the Wanderer helps him loosen Jackson's grip and he manages to escape the hold.

Several parts of the crowd gives loud boos, cheering Jackson on.  Gangleri rushes straight at Jackson and attempts a high knee, but Jackson is quick to move out the way and clobbers Gangleri with a left hook. Gangleri falls to he mat and Jackson continues his attack. After Jackson throws hammer punch after hammer punch to a battered and bruised Gangleri, the referee finally intervenes, forcing Jackson to back off. He checks on Gangleri, who surprisingly shoves the referee away, and staggers back to his feet.

Gangleri goes to clinch again, and tries to pick up Jackson, but the Champion rallies back with an elbow in the stomach, grabs Gangleri by the back of the head skull and levels him with a crushing head butt that busts both men wide open from the impact. Gangleri falls back against the cage, and has his throat crushed as Jackson and lands a forearm smash against his neck. Gangleri spits blood in Jackson's face, forcing him to break away from his assault. Gangleri catches Jackson with a kick to the side of the knee that staggers the Champion, leaving him open a takedown, that Gangleri is only too happy to take. Jackson breaks free, and lands a wild elbow strike to Gangleri's nose, shifting the momentum so he can clinch to get back up.

The two immediately collide with another clinch, and Jackson manages to grapple and then sweep Gangleri off his feet with a belly to belly suplex. The two collide with another clinch, each looking for the takedown. Jackson again sweeps Gangleri off his feet, and drops him down with a vertebreaker. He mounts  and then locks Gangleri into a triangle choke, which he immediately modifies into a Muta Lock when Gangleri doesn't fight back. Gangleri submits after a valiant effort to break out of the hold, and a moment later he succumbs to the pain, losing consciousness.

Jackson defeats Gangleri via submission at 35:15.
