I've cosplayed before--some--nothing anime in the past but my first time at an anime convention will be at A-Kon 21 in Dallas in June. It's a typical 3 day event--Saturday being the main day of the convention. I'm going as Edward Elric.

and i might meet you there.  i want to, and i want to go as The Boss in the silver stealth outfit from Metal Gear Solid 3.  that outfit's going to take forever to make but it'll be so badass.

i know premades exist of it on teh internetz for buying, they're just-- HEINOUSLY expensive.  i'm on the fence.

also... nerds?

while i know this isn't a traditional efed we're all participating in...  cosplaying probably DOES edge efedding out in the nerdgasm contest... but they've both gotta be in the top five nerdiest hobbies on the planet.  pot/kettle.

Jackson

relax Kore... was just kidding around. Miss Thang knows I loves her for being a nerd... *swoon*

Tim

While I personally don't get the whole anime thing, as for general nerd-dom.  It's more than acceptable, especially nowadays, which I greatly appreciate myself as I stare at the stack of comics to my left.

RingOtaku

Yeah I got a fair amount of american comics besides my huge stack of anime DVDs/manga volumes. I am nerd and proud.

Shane Sanders

;D Geek is the new chic. Which is why I l-o-v-e The Big Bang Theory--it makes me happy to see good comedy about nerdom.

If my house wasn't so mess I'd take pictures of our rooms and show how truly nerdy my house is. Living room, bedroom, and washroom is decorated in Watchman posters, anime posters and wall scrolls, and we have multiple bookcases filled with manga, comics, strategy guides for video games, action figures, trading cards, etc.

Ps: Who is miss thang...is it me? I wanna be miss thang!!!! pick me..pick me!

Marvel comics > anime, IMHO

RingOtaku

Too generalized a statement for my taste. I'd take X-Factor over just about anything but Marvel puts out some real crap.

Osbourne Kilminster

X-Factor? The British vague equivalent of America's Got Talent? You suggest this is better than all of Marvel Comicdom? Shame on you. Shame. LOL

In all seriousness, you rate it above Secret Warriors, Dark Avengers, Thor, Punisher etc? WTF?

X-Factor was a comic series LONG before it was a British TV show.  :P  Even I knew that.  Silly Ozzy.
