In case you miss the DM I wrote on twitter, I'm not gonna be able to have time to judge all of the RP's in full because after the deadline has past, I'll be going on holiday with my mum and my sister so I'm unable to do that.
Even if I did, I honestly wouldn't do it because not only I'm awful at judging RP's, but I would give everyone high marks since I'm not a very good writer. Just not a fan of people judging other people's RP's when it should really be the fedheads themselves doing it, unless I'm reading it all completely wrong and I misunderstood how everything goes.
QuoteSTORY-ADVANCEMENT
The most important part of any submission written for UNLEASHED™ is the story a player is attempting to tell. In UNLEASHED™, we want writers first and foremost. We want compelling stories. We want to actually enjoy reading the tales of our players' characters. We want scenes that advance a character's life, and not simply serve as a snapshot of daily activities. Because of this, story advancement is the most important aspect of any submitted writing.
Unless noted by the player, stories are usually not public knowledge, though consequences of events in a story might become public knowledge. For example, if a character commits a crime and is arrested, the details of the arrest might not be public knowledge, but the arrest itself would become public knowledge.
Any sections that are meant to be public knowledge should be noted prior to the beginning of their submission, to insure that the opponent and judges are aware. Though we do not require our players to write "promos" for their fights, if they do so, we ask that they make sure it is easily understood by the opposing player, and judges, which sections fall under the public knowledge category.
If there is any doubt of what is, and isn't, public knowledge, contact the player or administration.
TECHNIQUE
We expect our players to pay attention to editing their stories before submitting them. While we do put an emphasis on things like spell-checking and basic grammar, a few misspelled words will rarely be a deciding factor in a story. We also recognize that our players are writing literature, not non-fiction. Rhetorical devices are often used by authors to convey aspects of their characters. Such devices will not be negatively judged.
ENJOYMENT FACTOR
Sometimes a perfectly written story just isn't that much fun to read. First, enjoyment and excitement are not always interchangeable. A lot of action in a story could be exciting, but if it isn't written well, it could be difficult to read. Likewise, a story that doesn't have a lot of physical action could tell an emotional story that is just as engaging for the reader. While Story-Advancement and Technique are fairly straightforward and objective, Enjoyment Factor is dependent on a judge's preferences, and thus it is the least significant benchmark in scoring fights.
